What is Vintage Wine

The term 'vintage' refers to the year the grapes were harvested. A 'vintage wine' is simply a wine with a vintage indication. Colloquially, the term is often used for older, aged wines.

For champagne, 'vintage' has a more specific meaning: it refers to champagne made exclusively from grapes of one exceptional year, as opposed to non-vintage champagne blended from multiple vintages.
